I suppose my personal aesthetic is built upon nostalgia from times where things were made well and sturdy. For example, there are some watch movements that were called “tracteurs” or tractors. Basically because they were sturdy, shock proof, built to handle anything - old rolexes and valjoux movements come to mind. Same could be said for shoes which are built to be rebuilt forever and beautiful suits whose materials settle over time. Love these things.

This gets into the minutiae of the disease we call Watch Idiot Savantism (WISism) but check out all the different colors and fonts on these 1675 bezel. Only nature and time can make the colors like this - so much fun on one of my favorite vintage Rolexes.
Wow, I like the blue face and of course, this is the classic perpetual, moonphase chrono that we all have come to love from Patek - with an inhouse movement no less. But that weird speedbump on the dial at 6 o’clock is just weird.
Another model from the 2014 line to show off. The #Panerai PAM569 Destro Hobnail Dial Submersible. The submersible features a 44mm Titanium case and features a faux patina on the indexes, hands, and small dots. This piece will be limited to only 1000 units. Yes I know it’s on the wrong hand 😁 was for picture taking purposes.
Nice shot of two really cool modern Rolexes. Not fussy, not precious metals, they’re just sturdy flexible timepieces. 16610LV (Lunette Verte) on the gentleman and a nice Coke 16710 on what looks like the beautiful Giorgia Mondani’s hand. An excellent pair.
I don’t know this gentleman nor do I know where he is - but I often talk about watches helping me to set my mood. This photo exemplifies how that works for me. Beautiful watch, casual NATO strap, and nice shot of the dock. Great laid back vibe.
My favorite complications as exhibited by 2 modern and 1 vintage Rolex. Everytime I look at my dual time watches, I feel like I should be in Italy or Hong Kong instead of sitting in my office in California. Absolutely beautiful watches and inspires my wanderlust.
PAM 557 in the flesh. So lovely. With a plexi (yes plexi is sexy) crystal. Basically a destro 372. But loved it. Still, and the purists will hate me for it, I need a running seconds hand. If only to tell me that I’ve actually wound the watch and it’s running.
